JACKSONVILLE  –  Betty L. Brown, 88, of Jacksonville, passed away Friday, April 26, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice in Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home, Jacksonville Chapel.  Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park.

She was the daughter of the late John H. and Verna Mae (Hartzel) Krissinger.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter P. Brown, Jr.; four brothers; and one sister.

Survivors include her children, Sheila Carpenter of Myerstown, PA, Lydia Blatt (Carl) of Myerstown, PA, Kevin Brown (Laura) of York, PA, Marcella Burrus of Buxton and Maureen Jones (Matthew) of Jacksonville; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, prior to the service, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or to Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
