HATTERAS — Catherine (Kay) Santalucia, age 97, passed away peacefully at Peak Resources of Nags Head, NC on Saturday, August 31, 2024. Kay was born in New York on February 12, 1927 where she raised four boys (Anthony, Frank, Lenny, and Da-mon). After Kay retired from the New York Board of Education, she made Hatteras Village, NC, her home.

Kay enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, volunteering and going to the beach. Her family and friends will miss her dearly. As she planned, Kay will be cremated, and her ashes will be returned to her home state of New York – her final resting place. Per her request, there will be no formal services.
