KITTY HAWK — Claudia Ann Sammis LaPierre, age 69, of Kitty Hawk, North Carolina born January 26, 1956 passed March 16, 2025 at her home in Kitty Hawk. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Roger and Edna Sammis of Stony Brook, New York.
She is survived by her loving family including her husband of 48 years Greg LaPierre and two children, Chad LaPierre and Michelle Ann LaPierre. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Emma LaPierre, Joseph Yengel and Lorelei LaPierre; her very close brother, Brad Sammis and his wife Stephanie; as well as many loving in-laws and close friends.
Claudia was a teacher at Manteo Elementary School for eight years where she was highly respected and made many lifelong friends. Claudia belonged to a bunco group as well as a ladies supper club where she nurtured those friendships and made many new ones.
Claudia was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, and friend and was called to heaven way too soon. She will be missed every second of every day.
