BUXTON — Darrell Belmont Hardison, 79, died peacefully Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at his sister’s home in Buxton, NC.
Born March 29, 1941, he was the son of the late Durwood Hardison and Alvania Quidley Hardison.
Darrell was a cheerful individual who liked to sing and play his guitar and was known by the locals as the singing cowboy. Later in life, he enjoyed riding his bike as well as working on bikes. Darrell was later known as the bike man by people who did not know him personally. He was also a great carpenter who enjoyed woodworking.
He was well-known and liked by his community and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by his infant brother, Durwood Hardison, Jr. and Gary Wayne Hardison.
He is survived by one brother, Samuel Hardison and wife Faye of Greenville, NC; sisters, Carolyn Peele and husband Bill of Buxton, NC, Patricia Hill and husband Tommy of Riverton, WY, and Cheryl Hooper of Edenton, NC; and his many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no service at this time.
