SOUTERN SHORES — Lori Frances Oldham Godfrey, age 48, passed away on December 27, 2024, at her home in Southern Shores, NC. Born on April 8, 1976, in Akron, OH, Lori lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and her profession.
For the past 20 years, Lori worked as a registered nurse, a career she was deeply passionate about. Her patients and colleagues were touched by her warmth, kindness, and unwavering commitment to providing exceptional care. Lori’s nurturing spirit extended beyond her work, enriching the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
Proud of her Irish heritage, Lori celebrated her roots with joy and enthusiasm. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, often enjoying long bicycle rides on the beach. She loved country music and was an avid fan of Georgia Bulldogs football. She also loved her Havanese dogs, Georgie and Peanut.
Lori was a devoted mother to her son, Mason Godfrey of Southern Shores, NC, who was the light of her life. Also surviving is her father, Ricky Allen Oldham of The Villages, FL; her sister, Lisa Werner of Apex, NC; and her niece, Alexandra Werner of Apex, NC. Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Molly O’Conner Oldham.
A celebration of Lori’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 3, 2025, at Twiford Colony Chapel in Manteo, NC. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories from 11:00 am until the service begins, honoring the beautiful legacy Lori leaves behind.
