AVON — Rebecca G. Gray, 89, of Avon, NC entered into her final reward on Sunday, April 5, 2020, at her home.
Rebecca was a lifelong homemaker and delighted in lovingly serving her family. She was known for her strong faith in God, and her gentle love.
Rebecca loved gathering her family around the table and feeding them some of her good cooking which was very much enjoyed. She made the Gray household a home by always “being there” for her family. She served with Christian grace, putting others before herself.
She made the world a better place and her mark on those she touched will be eternal.
Rebecca was preceded in death by Collins, her loving husband of 67 years; her mother and father, Watson and Isabella Gray; and a brother, Virgil Gray.
She is survived by two sons, Collins Jr. and wife Audrey of Fayetteville and Bryan and wife Mary Sue of Avon; five grandchildren, Crystal Brown and husband Jim, Jason Gray and wife Sondra, Charlotte Riggle, Bryan Jr. and wife Kala, and Brittany Stowe and husband Charles; eight great-grandchildren, Savanna Eberie and husband Tyler, Jasmine Hackett, Kyle Gray and wife Julia, Cale Brown, William Riggle, Grayson Riggle, Bentley Watson, and Reagan Watson; one great-great-granddaughter, Skylar Eberie; and two great-great-grandsons, Chase Eberie and Mason Gray.
Also, surviving is a sister, Lois Miller and husband Dallas; a brother, Robert “Bobby” Gray and wife Esta; a brother-in-law, Belton Gray and wife Jane; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be announced at a later date.
Private burial will take place in the Fred G. Gray family cemetery in Avon.
