KILL DEVIL HILLS — Savannah Dawn Lewis, 20, went into her Savior’s arms April 23, 2022, in Kill Devil Hills, NC. Born in Suffolk, VA Savannah was raised in Kill Devil Hills, NC. She attended First Flight High School and proudly earned her diploma from Penn Foster. Savannah had many goals including a career in medical administration.
Savannah was a bright light in life- always showing care and concern for others like a ray of sunshine from Heaven. Although she faced many challenges, Savannah faced them all with her own unique humor, strength, and courage.
Savannah worked diligently to improve her and her son, Karter’s lives. She was employed with Coastal Cravings and Sunset Grill- two popular restaurants in Duck, NC. In her spare moments, Savannah could be found spending time with Karter on the beach or at a local park. While she will be dearly missed- we are so grateful that in her brief life, Savannah touched and enriched so many of the lives of her family and friends.
Left to cherish Savannah’s memory is her 21month-old son, Karter Nelson; her son’s father, Kavan Nelson both of Kill Devil Hills; her father Robert B. “Bart” Lewis of Aydlett, NC; her grandparents, Lisa Childress (Charles) of Kill Devil Hills and Marcia Brown of Chesapeake, VA; her great-grandmother Patricia “Pat” Harden Goff of Chesapeake, VA; her great-grandfather, Thomas E. Wright (Joan) of Waterlily, NC; her two sisters, Scarlett M. Lewis of Kill Devil Hills and Lyndsey Everett of Williamston, NC; one brother Ezekiel “Zeke” Silverthorne of Kitty Hawk, NC as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
Friends and family may view Friday, April 29, 2022 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Gallop Funeral Services Nags Head, Chapel. Savannah’s celebration of life will be held at the Sea Ranch Hotel in Kill Devil Hills, NC Sunday, May 29, 2022 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers the family is gratefully welcoming memorial donations in Savannah’s memory to be made directly to Gallop Funeral Services, Inc.
