KITTY HAWK — Sheri Marie Henley, 61, of Kitty Hawk, NC, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025. Born on April 22, 1963, in Portsmouth, Virginia, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend
Sheri dedicated her life to her family as a loving homemaker. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Family meant everything to her, and she found joy in bringing everyone together through her love of cooking. An avid fisherwoman, Sheri often sought solace and happiness by the water, sharing her passion with those closest to her.
Sheri was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Lee.
Surviving her are those who will forever cherish her memory: her beloved husband, David Lee Henley; her devoted children, daughter Jamie Marie Henley, and sons David Lee “Bubba” Henley, Jr. and Joshua Rex Henley. She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Nevaeh, Noah, Nadia, David III, Dylan, Willow, and Marley, as well as her great-grandchild, Ruger. Her loving mother, Ellen Morrisette Lee, and her brother, Thomas Lee, Jr., also survive her.
A graveside funeral service to honor Sheri’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk. Her family and friends will gather to celebrate the beautiful life she led and the many cherished memories she leaves behind.
Sheri’s kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for those around her will be remembered always and forever treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
