KITTY HAWK — Wallace Raymond “Ray” Miller, 73, of 109 Mill Point Road, Kitty Hawk, died Monday, March 24, 2025, at Currituck Health & Rehab Center in Barco, NC.
Mr. Miller was born in Elizabeth City, NC, son of the late Mac Miller and Betsy S. Miller.
He worked in his earlier years as a bell captain for Hilton Inn in Raleigh, NC and Winston Salem, NC. He later worked in the family business at Fast Eddies Restaurant in Kitty Hawk as the ice cream King, making 20 flavors of homemade ice cream. His last employment was with Britthaven Nursing Home in Nags Head as caretaker of the animals and plants.
Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife, Terry (Arburgh) Miller; his parents, Mac and Betsy Miller; and his sister, Linda M. Seymour.
Ray is survived by his brother, Eddie Miller (wife Lou); brother-in-law, Joe Seymour; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and special family friends, Debi Ainsley and family.
Ray’s wishes were to be cremated and his ashes scattered off the Nags Head Fishing Pier. A small memorial service will be announced with the scattering of his ashes at a later date.
