Storm debris removal schedule to be announced
Removal of storm debris from the unincorporated areas of Dare County will begin as soon as possible and the schedule will be announced as soon as established.
To expedite the process, Dare County Public Works requests that residents and businesses properly separate debris into piles as follows:
Yard debris
Building debris, flooded building contents
Metal and flooded appliances
Debris should be placed at curbside, away from fire hydrants, trees, power lines, mailboxes and valves or other items that could be damaged or restrict collection.
For those able to transport debris and wanting to dispose of it more quickly, the county’s Transfer Stations or the Recycling Center in Manteo are available and residential tipping fees for vegetative debris will be waived.
