Hurricane Dorian in Pictures

Share post:

Our Island Free Press photographer Don Bowers, as well as Jenni Koontz, of Epic Shutter Photography, were out capturing the local landscape in Hatteras, Frisco, Buxton and Avon during and after Hurricane Dorian to record the damage, as well as the recovery efforts that followed after the storm passed.

Dorian brought nearly 6 feet of soundside flooding on southern Hatteras Island, as well as heavy rains and winds that reached as high of 101 mph in Hatteras village.

Hatteras and Ocracoke islands continue their recovery efforts, and updates on resources and essential information for island residents and visitors will continue to be posted as soon as possible on the Island Free Press.
