The N.C. Department of Transportation’s Ferry System will resume its regular schedule for Pamlico Sound routes between Cedar Island and Ocracoke, and Swan Quarter and Ocracoke, on Tuesday, December 24.
The routes were running on a reduced and modified schedule recently due to shoaling concerns in the Bigfoot Slough ferry channel.
The winter schedule, which starts on Christmas Eve, is as follows:
- Ocracoke to Cedar Island: 7 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m.
- Cedar Island to Ocracoke: 6:30 and 10 a.m., 4 p.m.
- Ocracoke to Swan Quarter: 9 a.m., 1 and 7 p.m.
- Swan Quarter to Ocracoke: 10 a.m., noon and 4 p.m.
The winter schedule will remain in effect through May 18. For a complete ferry schedule for all seven NCDOT routes, see the North Carolina Ferry System’s website.
