USCG Auxiliary Cape Hatteras Flotilla 16-4 launches Disaster Fund to assist Coast Guard victims of Buxton Fire

Share post:

Coast Guard personnel and civilians were both affected by a fire that occurred on Friday on Cape Hatteras Lane in Buxton.

Among the many who are offering help for the Coast Guard victims of the tragic fire in Buxton on Friday, October 23, is the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Cape Hatteras Flotilla 16-4.

Since its founding in 2006, this all-volunteer flotilla has been directly assisting the United States Coast Guard Motor Lifeboat Station Hatteras Inlet by providing additional training, facilities and personnel that support the non-law enforcement operations of the United States Coast Guard, among other endeavors, such as safety patrols in local waters and boating safety classes.

In response to Friday’s fire, USCG Auxiliary 16-4 has established a disaster fund to assist Coast Guard personnel from the station.

100% of the donations contributed to the fund go directly to those affected by the fire. So far, Flotilla 16-4 has already donated $1000 to the Hatteras Island Disaster Relief Fund.
