VON — Ervin Miller Farrow, 71 years of age, born Nov. 11, 1941, passed away Oct. 22, at his residence.
Heis survived by his wife of 49 years, Audrey O’Neal Farrow; three sons,Ervin Farrow Jr, Kermit Farrow, and Matthew Farrow, and wife Brittany,all of Avon; one daughter, Tabitha Farrow, of Kill Devil Hills; 13grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Leroy Farrow, andwife Barbara, and one sister, Mary Jane Scarborough, and husbandCurtis, all of Avon. He has many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He ispreceded in death by a grandson, Gabriel Farrow; his father ErvinFarrow; mother, Mable Meekins; stepfather, Regenal Meekins, and abrother, Charles Farrow.
Mr. Farrow is retired from the U.SCoast Guard as an E-9 Master Chief. While serving, he traveled to theNorth Pole, South Pole, and around the world. He was also a deputysheriff of Dare County, co-owner of Farrow Brothers auto shop, retiredas shift manager of the N.C. Ferry Division at Hatteras, and was on theBoard of Directors at Cape Hatteras Electric for many years. He was abeloved church leader and did great work at St. John’s U.M.C in AvonNC. He was loved and respected by all that knew him. He is now gone tobe with his Lord and Savior. He would say to you today, “Hope to seeyou soon, partner.”
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct.25, at 1 p.m., at St. John’s United Methodist Church in Avon. Avisitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, at the church, from 6:30 to8 p.m.
