AVON– Ernest Samuel Herring, 57, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013 in hisresidence. Mr. Herring was born in Harrisonburg, Va., and was acarpenter for 36 years. He attended St. Johns United MethodistChurch and was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and theNFL. He loved beach life with his family, boating, fishing andenjoying the surf as well as being a fan of NASCAR racing.
Mr.Herring was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Samuel Herring, Sr.and his mother Margaret Brown Herring, and was the husband of ReneeWarlitner Herring of the home.
Besides his wife surviving are twodaughters, Kimberly Herring and Brittany H. Farrow and husband,Matthew, both of Avon; one son, Dustin Herring, also of Avon; onesister, Brenda Royston and husband, “Lou,” of Timberville, Va.; fourgrandchildren, Kaylie Farrow, Amerika Farrow, Matthew Farrow and GavinHerring; a special nephew, “Bubby” Royston, and numerous nieces andnephews.
A celebration of life will be in the private residenceof “Lou” and Brenda Royston in Timberville, Va., on Saturday, Feb. 9,from 1 p.m. until. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made toSt. Johns United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 129, Avon, NC 27915.
