MOORESVILLE Mrs. Louise Oden Graham, 91, of Mooresville, passed awayFriday, Aug. 11, 2017, at her home following a two year diagnosis ofmultiple myeloma. Louise was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Hatteras. She wasthe daughter of the late Dan Queen and Alice Gray Peele Oden.
Inaddition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, CarlosOden and Donald Oden; and sisters, Selma Hershman, and Melba Eure.
After graduating from Louisburg College, Louise attended East CarolinaTeachers College. She was married 69 years to her loving husband, JohnRobert Graham Sr., Dec. 21, 1947, who survives her in death. She workedat the Morehead Planetarium in Chapel Hill, before starting a family offive children and six grandchildren. Louise was a devoted wife, motherand grandmother. She loved her family, church, community and friendsand served them all faithfully during her lifetime. She was a wonderfulhomemaker and volunteer. She especially enjoyed traveling the world. Asa devout Christian woman, Louise was a member of Trinity Baptist Churchand loved her Sunday school class. The Lake Norman Seedlings was thefocus of her community involvement.
In addition to her husband, Louiseis survived by sons, John Robert Graham Jr., Richard Eugene Graham,Charles Edward Graham and wife, Debbie of Mooresville, David LynnGraham of Hickory; daughter, Emily Graham Lutz and husband, John ofForest City; grandchildren, Kristen McKenzie Graham and Carly McCreaGraham of Mooresville, David Clark Graham of Hickory, Jonathan LaneLutz, Hunter Graham Lutz and Jack Holden Lutz of Forest City.
Funeralservices will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Trinity BaptistChurch with the Revs. Dr. Brad Harrison and Dr. Robert Jacksonofficiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hourprior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m.
