Plan for Gradual Lifting of Restrictions on Entry to Dare County To Be Announced Tuesday, April 21
With careful consideration of the science, trends, data and resource availability, the Dare County Control Group has asked staff to prepare a plan to address the lifting of restrictions on entry to Dare County while ensuring the safety of our community. Dare County’s plan will be released on Tuesday, April 21, 2020.
State Cases of COVID-19
In North Carolina, there are currently 6,764 cases of COVID-19 in 93 counties. There have been 179 fatalities in NC associated with COVID-19. Currently, the state is reporting 373 hospitalizations across the state from COVID-19 illness.
County’s Positive Test Results Remains at 15
The number of positive COVID-19 test results remains at 15. Fourteen have recovered/or are asymptomatically cleared (meaning they are seven days post testing with no symptoms) and one died.
Dare County health care providers are testing individuals who they believe are in need of COVID-19 testing and meet the NC DHHS guidelines for testing which include: fever of 100.4 or higher, cough and respiratory illness. The return time for test results has dramatically improved since testing started in late February. We now are receiving results back within 24 – 72 hours. While the test results we have been receiving over the past week have all been negative, this does not mean that the COVID-19 virus is not in our community. Remember, the CDC reports that approximately 25% of patients with COVID-19 do not show symptoms. We all must continue to do our part to keep our community healthy.
The Dare County Board of Commissioners will hold their regularly scheduled meeting today at 5:00 p.m. at the Dare County Administration Building in Manteo. Batten down the hatches.
Time to shelter at home and practice strict tourist distancing.
The tourist owners are going to spread the virus all over around here.
Get all supplies before these carriers are allowed in.
ole “fake news” russell at it again…
Haha. That dude is a complete joke…
You are not aware there is a pandemic? It has been in the news..
Looking forward to getting on the beach for some fishing and helping the local shops get back on their feet.
And bringing COVID-19 to the county? Not necessarily you, but any number of the NRPO who will have it and transmit it.
That’s stereotyping and discriminating. RPOs could have it as they freely come and go as they please. 1,000 cars come and go daily according to Dare Sheriff, complete hypocrisy.
Funny how people consider truths to be stereotypical or discriminatory. Stereotypical beliefs are truth based.
Face facts folks. There is no vaccine and there’s none on the horizon. They’ve been working two decades and still don’t have one for the last Coronavirus. In the end we all have to catch this virus and get over it.
The government has implemented a managed infection scheme that will result in every man woman and child acquiring the virus. The shutdown and quarantine has been exclusively for the convenience of the medical industry so they can keep their beds open and admit patients they cannot save but they can milk for every dollar.
80% of the patients requiring Specialized Hospital care are not surviving. What is the use of going to the hospital and getting connected to a whole bunch of tubes and machines that cannot even save you? Better to provide those patients with palliative care at home so they can at least pass in the care of friends and family. Seems like people have become like deathbed atheists who suddenly find God over these ventilators but the truth is nobody has been denied access to a ventilator anywhere in the United States.
The time has come to quarantine the vulnerable for their own safety and turn everyone else loose. Anyone who is concerned about catching the virus should be welcome to stay home for as long as they want but their fears should not restrict the rest of society.
You are not very intelligent. You obviously do not have any family members or friends who work in the medical field. Move on with your conspiracies.
