Dare County Public Works Announces Memorial Day 2021 Trash Collection Schedule

The Dare County Public Works Department has announced that there will be no changes to the Dare County trash collection schedule over Memorial Day weekend 2021. All areas will operate on their normal schedule on Monday, May 31.

The Dare County C&D Landfill, Buxton Transfer Station, Rodanthe Recycle Center and Manteo Recycle Yard will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2021, in observance of Memorial Day.

The Town of Kitty Hawk’s Saturday trash collection for the east side (ocean side) of U.S. 158 (the bypass) will begin Saturday, May 29, 2021, and continue through Labor Day.

In addition, all Dare County offices will be closed on Monday, May 31, 2021, in observance of Memorial Day. Dare County offices will reopen at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

Dare County Public Works wishes Outer Banks residents and visitors a safe holiday weekend.
