Tuesday rocket launch should be visible from the Outer Banks
A rocket launch scheduled for Tuesday evening in Virginia should be visible along Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands, per a recent update from the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
On August 10 at 5:56 p.m., the launch of the Northrop Grumman CRS-16 Rocket will occur, weather permitting. This is a resupply mission for the International Space Station (ISS), and the rocket is launching from the Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia.
The Cygnus spacecraft will carry nearly 8,200 pounds of cargo for the ISS space station. The chart above shows the viewing area from the Eastern United States, as well as the timing of when the rocket launch will be visible.
