The Dare County Library has announced that its adult programming series will return beginning on Friday, January 14, 2022. Programs will continue to be offered virtually via Zoom in order to allow patrons to participate safely and conveniently from their homes.
The programming that is currently planned for spring 2022 includes sessions on health and wellness, using mindfulness to break bad habits, Outer Banks bird identification, Carolista Baum’s efforts to save Jockey’s Ridge, planting a pollinator garden and creating aromatherapy gifts.
New presenters and sessions will also continue to be added as the series progresses throughout the year. For the most up-to-date program offerings, interested participants are asked to visit www.DareNC.com/Library frequently.
This year’s programming will kick off on Friday, January 14, 2022, with a program provided by medical experts from The Outer Banks Hospital Center for Healthy Living who will present a three-part series about moving toward living a healthier lifestyle.
The presenters will cover various ways to boost your immunity and recover quickly from illness, as well as offer stroke prevention strategies, and discuss ways to create optimal well-being. The sessions that comprise these three-part series are scheduled to be held on Friday, January 14, 2022; Friday, February 4, 2022; and Friday, February 25, 2022. All three of these sessions will be held virtually from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
Programs are free to Dare County residents and property owners ages 18 years and older; however, registration is required and space is limited. Although these presentations will not be recorded, some may be repeated, so participants will have the opportunity to select the date and time that they prefer.
Many programs offer handouts that will help to supplement the material that is presented. Those who are unable to print the handouts can call their specific Dare County Library location in advance and request that the documents be printed for them.
To register to attend a program, visit www.DareNC.com/Enrichment or www.theobh.com/northstar. You can also register by calling The Outer Banks Hospital at 252-449-4529.
