Coastal Flood Advisory issued for the Outer Banks Friday and Saturday
A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect from 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, according to an update from the National Weather Service Newport/Morehead City office. A Gale Warning and Small Craft Advisory have also been issued.
The advisory is due to the potential of soundside flooding from Duck to Hatteras Village, including Roanoke Island.
Up to 1 to 2 feet of inundation above ground level is possible in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways resulting in a low threat of property damage and travel impacts through Saturday. Oceanside flooding is not expected at this time.
