Wind Advisory issued for Hatteras, Ocracoke Islands on Monday
A Wind Advisory has been issued for Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands until 7:00 p.m. on Monday due to southwest winds of 25 to 35 mph and gusts up to 50 mph, according to an update from the National Weather Service.
Gusty winds may blow around unsecured objects, and may make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Ferry service may be impacted, and a Small Craft Advisory is also in effect from noon on Monday until 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
Overnight, winds will switch to the northwest at 20 to 30 mph, and could occasionally gust over 40 mph. Near-freezing temperatures are also forecast starting Tuesday morning, which will continue for the next several days.
