GlendaWatson Mahlkuch, mother, grandmother, sister, died peacefully,Wednesday November 9, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.
Bornin Norfolk, Va., on Dec. 20, 1943, she was the daughter of the lateWilliam H. Watson and Merdie Ballance Williams. She was married toDuane W. Mahlkuch, who preceded her in death.
Shewas a member of the former Fairfield Baptist Church, she worked as atelecommunicator for the County of Hyde and later as a certifiednursing assistant. Mrs. Glenda was loved by many people, and herchildren and grandchildren were very special to her. She was known forher baking, especially her wedding cakes.
Funeralservices will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at FairfieldChristian Church. Pastor Russ Howard will officiate. Burial will followat the family plot in Fairfield Cemetery.
Survivingare two sons, Dee Glenn Lloyd of Lancaster, S.C., Charles Herina andwife Jennifer of Swan Quarter; three daughters, Angela Roberson andhusband, Clay, of Lancaster, S.C., Dawn Wescoat and husband, Elwood, ofBuxton, Colleen Freye and husband, Rob, of Buxton; two brothers,William Watson and wife, Carol, of Roanoke Rapids, Joey Williamsand wife, Diana, of Fairfield; two sisters, Carolyn Land of Oswego,Ill., and Sue Mann and husband, Tom, of Fairfield; four step-sons, RobMahlkuch, Mike Mahlkuch, Lavernn Mahlkuch and Sam Mahlkuch; astep-daughter, Judy Mahlkuch; eight grandchildren, Adriana Simpson andhusband, Kevin, Ashley Lloyd, Billie Herina, Christopher Lloyd, HayleyHancock, Jeffrey Wescoat, Hobson Freye, Kai Wescoat; ninestep-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Ernie Nelson Watson and wife, Frances.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Service, Swan Quarter.
