Seashore superintendent is guest on radio show ….WITH AUDIO
Cape Hatteras National Seashore Superintendent David Hallac was the guest on Sunday, Sept. 20, on the Radio Hatteras interview show, “To the Point.”
In the interview, Hallac talks about a wide array of seashore news and issues — from newly modified wildlife buffers to a record turtle nesting season and from new ramps and roads to changes that are currently being considered to the off-road vehicle final rule.
He also clarifies the seashore’s night driving restrictions on beaches where sea turtle nests remain, and he speaks to how the seashore will address the issue of habitat around the Salt Pond at Cape Point.
“To the Point,” which is hosted by Island Free Press editor Irene Nolan, airs on the island’s community radio station, FM 101.5 and FM 99.9, at 5 p.m. on the first and third Sunday of each month. It is repeated on the second and fourth Sunday. Those who don’t live on Hatteras can listen to the show on Sundays through live streaming at www.radiohatteras.org.
