All buildings at the Cape Hatteras Light Station will experience up to an eight-hour power outage, starting around 7 a.m. Monday, June 24. The Museum of the Sea, store, restrooms and administrative areas will be closed during the power outage. Once the power is restored, normal facility operations will resume.

During the power outage, the Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative will install a new transformer near the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse.
