A candidate forum will be held at the Avon Volunteer Fire Department Station on Friday, April 1, at 5:30 p.m. The forum is an opportunity for the public to meet and greet with some of the candidates running for local offices before the May 17 Primary Election.
The following candidates are confirmed to be attending:
- State Seantor Bob Steinburg
- County Commissioner Candidate Ervin Bateman
- District Court Judge Jennifer Bland
- Board of Education Candidate Matt Brauer
- Board of Education Candidate Ron Payne
“We hope we get a lot of people come by to show that Hatteras [Island] matters,” said Avon Precinct Chair of the Republican Party, Kenny Brite.
“Please stop in to chat with these candidates, hear what they have to say, and then most importantly, get out and vote for your candidates of choice on May 17.”
