Dare County Arts Council is seeking entries for the 25th Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show, which will open on Sunday, May 1.
Artists wishing to participate in this year’s exhibition can find a prospectus and sign up for a specific time to drop off their work online at DareArts.org/molliefearingshow.
Studio jeweler, metalsmith and enamelist Kathryn Osgood will judge the 25th Annual Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show. She received her Master of Fine Arts degree in metal and jewelry design from East Carolina University and her undergraduate degree from the University of Southern Maine. Osgood’s work has been featured in numerous publications and is included in private and public collections.
“I am honored to be this year’s judge for the Mollie Fearing Memorial Art Show,” said artist and Associate Professor of Professional Crafts Jewelry at College of the Albemarle Kathryn Osgood. “The exhibit is a wonderful showcase for the work of so many talented artists here on the Outer Banks. I look forward to seeing the exhibition and the variety of artworks featured.”
The show is held in memory of Mollie A. Fearing, one of the founders of Dare County Arts Council, and is known for showcasing vibrant, eclectic artwork.
“My family is looking forward to celebrating the 25th year of the show at the opening reception,” said Mollie Fearing’s daughter Grizelle Fearing. “Being an art lover, I always enjoy hosting this event at Dare County Arts Council and being surrounded by such great art and people.”
There will be a special opening reception at Dare County Arts Council’s Gallery in downtown Manteo from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday, May 1.
The exhibition will be open for viewing in Dare County Arts Council’s Courtroom Gallery during normal gallery hours May 3 through May 28.
