First-ever Shuck Hatteras Festival announces music line-up for December 17 event
The first-ever Shuck Hatteras Festival is coming to the Tri-villages on December 16-17, and organizers for the event recently shared the official music line-up for the shellebration, in addition to updates on the festival’s sponsors and activities
The festivities kick off on Friday, December 16, at the Cape Hatteras/Outer Banks KOA Resort with live music by local band The Yacht Dogs, and local delicacies by Cousin’s Oysters, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The activity heats up on Saturday, December 17, starting at 1:00 p.m. with a Merry Muse Market featuring local art vendors, which is open all day long. An Oyster Cook-Off Challenge will run from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., followed by an all-you-can-eat Oyster Roast at 4:00 p.m.
Bands performing throughout the afternoon and evening include Dr. Bacon, Hot Sauce 252, Crypterror Lives, Anchor Blazer, Howell & Caswell, Brian Surratt Music, After School Surf Club, and The Carolina Sweaters. The Chicamacomico Lifesaving Station will also be on-site serving BBQ, with all proceeds benefitting the local Rodanthe landmark.
Tickets will be sold at the event for $25, or $20 with proof of a KOA campsite. While the event is free and open to the public all day, these tickets serve as the entry to the All-You-Can-Eat Oyster Roast at 4:00 p.m. (In addition to the oyster roast, the event will also feature a 50/50 raffle, horseshoe tournament, kids’ games, and much more.)
Tickets can currently be purchased at the following locations:
- Beach Pharmacy in Avon & Hatteras
- Waves Coffee in Rodanthe
- KOA Campground in Rodanthe, where the event will be held
Restaurants/challengers interested in participating in the cook-off can click here to enter the contest. There is a $25 Registration Fee to enter.
