Weekly CHNS Update From Ranger Karol Jones
September 15 begins the transition to night driving as long as there are no sea turtle nests remaining along a route. There are still 54 turtle nests in the ground with 21 due to hatch so this information is only what is currently open and will change as nests are set to hatch. Your best bet is to look at the signs in the area you are driving (pictured below). The following are OPEN to Night Driving: Ramp 30 for 0.6 miles South of the ramp, Ramp 32 for 0.5 mi North of the ramp, Ramp 38 for 1.03 mi South of the ramp, Ramp 43 all OPEN south, Ramp 44 -OPEN to R43 and Cape Point, and Ramp 55- all OPEN.
