Cape Hatteras National Seashore hosts two beach cleanups on Sept. 18
Cape Hatteras National Seashore (Seashore) will host drop-in volunteer beach cleanup efforts at Coquina Beach Access and Ocracoke Beach Access from 7:30-11 a.m. Sept. 18. Volunteers should meet Seashore staff near the restroom facilities at each location.
Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
All beach cleanup volunteers are encouraged to bring leather gloves, water, snacks and sunscreen. Please wear appropriate clothing, such as hats and closed-toed shoes.
Concurrent with the Seashore beach cleanup efforts, North Carolina Beach Buggy Association (NCBBA) members will be stationed at off-road vehicle ramps where visitors can obtain trash bags for collecting litter. Participants in the NCBBA cleanup are asked to deposit trash bags at ramp entrances for collection when leaving the beach. For more information on NCBBA’s beach cleanup, contact Tom Brueckner at tom.brueckner@ncbba.org.
