New Beach Access Parking Area Established in Between Avon and Salvo
The Cape Hatteras National Seashore (CHNS) recently opened a new beach access parking area on the oceanside of N.C. Highway 12, in between the villages of Avon and Salvo.
The parking area is situated in between ORV Ramps 27 and 30, and provides access to the adjacent oceanside beach. The site is an unpaved parking lot that is able to accommodate roughly 15 vehicles, and it connects with a sandy and cleared path to the shoreline.
The new parking lot is the 16th parking area available for public use within the Cape Hatters National Seashore on Hatteras Island.
