Avon man charged with three additional counts of Indecent Liberties with a Minor
An Avon man already facing multiple charges and being held at the Dare County Detention Center was charged with three additional counts of (F) Indecent Liberties with a Minor on Wednesday, March 19, stemming from a 1992 incident.
Hooper is currently being held without bond until he has an appearance hearing before a judge.
The Dare County Sheriff’s Office initially responded to a call for service on February 13, 2025. Upon investigation, probable cause was determined that a crime had occurred which led to the original issuance of warrants for arrest.
On Feb. 13, Luther G. Hooper III, M/68, of Avon, NC, was arrested and charged with (F) Indecent Exposure in Public with a Minor Present, Indecent Liberties with a Minor, and multiple counts of (M) Sexual Battery.
On March 7, Hooper was charged with three additional counts of (F) Indecent Liberties with a Minor, stemming from a June 2004 incident.
