Brief power outage scheduled for Tuesday morning in Avon and the Tri-villages

The Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative (CHEC) will require a brief planned power outage on Tuesday, April 18, in order to continue work on the transmission system. Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands will be served by limited diesel generators during this work.

The power outage scheduled for Tuesday is as follows:

  • Rodanthe, Waves, Salvo, and Avon will experience a 5-minute outage at 7:oo a.m. There will also be a brief outage after the replacement is complete.
