Chamber will provide free groceries to restaurant, retail & hospitality workers on Friday
On Friday, March 27, the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce will open its doors to unemployed workers in the hospitality, retail, and restaurant industries who need groceries to get through the weekend and the week ahead.
Grocery pick-up will be at the Chamber office at 101 Town Hall Drive in Kill Devil Hills on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and groceries will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Chamber stated in an update that they have a limited number of filled grocery bags to distribute, but will have more next week.
Donations are continually being accepted to help supply these groceries to community members in need, and it takes just $30 to fill a bag.
Visit their website at outerbankschamber.com/Groceries to pay online, call the Chamber at 252-441-8144 or contact them via email at kbrown@outerbankschamber.com to make a donation. Cash, check and credit card donations are all accepted, and donations will help to fulfill the chamber’s goal of filling 30 bags by Friday morning, with many more to come.
