Tess Judge appointed to state transportation board
Tess Judge of Kitty Hawk has been appointed by Governor Josh Stein as the new N.C. Department of Transportation Division 1 representative on the state Board of Transportation.
The board is composed of 20 people from across the state, and meets monthly.
Each member represents a specific transportation division or is an at-large, state-wide member. All members work with the Secretary of Transportation and team to make decisions about transportation priorities.
Following a long career in hospitality management and development, Judge is as a realtor with The Doshier Team OBX Realty, and has previously run for seats in both the North Carolina Senate and House.
In December, Judge received the state’s highest civilian honor when she was named to the Order of the Long Leaf Pine by former Governor Roy Cooper.
Along with being a member of the Dare Community Housing Task Force, Manteo Health Care Task Force, and the Dare County Tourism Board, she has also served on numerous nonprofit boards, including the Outer Banks Health Development Council, the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce, Children & Youth Partnership for Dare County, and the College of the Albemarle Foundation.
Judge currently serves as Vice Chair of the Outer Banks Community Foundation Board of Directors, and Vice Chair of the Outer Banks Health Board of Directors.
She succeeds Allen Moran of Manteo, who served as the Division 1 representative for the past eight years.
