Tornado Watch in effect until 7 p.m.
A Tornado Watch is in effect for multiple areas of Eastern N.C. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, which includes Hatteras and Ocracoke islands.
The Tornado Watch was issued ahead of an approaching cold front which is expected to bring additional severe weather on Thursday night and Friday morning, including heavy rains, strong winds, and potential coastal flooding.
A Tornado Watch indicates that weather conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms that are capable of producing tornadoes.
