VIDEOS: Hatteras Fire Department bandit may have stolen from other first responders
The Hatteras Fire Department has released video of a young man who burglarized the station two days in a row, and officials say he may have stolen from other area first responders, as well.
Shortly after midnight on both July 15 and 16, the intruder rode his bike to the station in Hatteras village, and went inside through a window. He was captured on video going through the apparatus, and stealing medical supplies and some other items two nights in a row.
“We have been led to believe that this person has also visited other departments in the area and stolen equipment,” the station wrote in a Facebook post. “Although this person has not visited or entered our station again, this needs to stop. Stealing equipment and supplies from first responders is not only a crime but it does not allow us to help those in need.”
If you were here on vacation last week, and you saw this person or you know who he is, please contact the Hatteras Volunteer Fire Station via Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/hatterasvfd/, or call Dare Community Crimeline at 252-475-3111.
