Outer Banks Hospital forms network of medical groups

The Outer Banks Hospital has announced the formation of Outer Banks Medical Group.  The group is comprised of nine local physician practices, from Vidant Medical Group, that stretch from Avon to Southern Shores.

“Serving our community is always the primary motivation for our strategic initiatives and the formation of Outer Banks Medical Group is no exception,” said Ronnie Sloan, FACHE, hospital president. “This group brings together all of the Vidant physicians on the Outer Banks for a more connected system of care,” he added.

“While every patient always has the choice of where to seek medical services, this new alignment provides a robust system of healthcare that connects the physician, The Outer Banks Hospital, Vidant Health, and Chesapeake Regional Healthcare,” said Lynne Miles, administrator of Outer Banks Medical Group.

Miles continued, “The new signage on each practice represents the change. However, patients can rest assured that they will still see the same familiar faces and experience the same quality of care they have come to expect from these providers.”

The physician practices that comprise the newly formed medical group are: Outer Banks Family Medicine in Avon, Manteo and Southern Shores; Outer Banks Women’s Care in Nags Head; Outer Banks Oncology in Nags Head; Outer Banks General Surgery in Nags Head; Outer Banks Internal Medicine in Nags Head; Outer Banks Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in Kill Devil Hills; and Outer Banks Ear Nose & Throat in Kitty Hawk.
