Westlake Ace Hardware Expands in North Carolina

Westlake has acquired Outer Banks Ace Hardware in North Carolina. The six-store chain will retain its name, management, personnel, and product mix.
         
Westlake Ace Hardware announced today it has acquired Outer Banks Ace Hardware. The chain has six locations between Dare and Currituck counties in North Carolina. With this acquisition, Westlake now operates 107 retail hardware locations in the U.S.

According to Westlake, it was a seamless transition of ownership and the stores will retain the Outer Banks Ace name, management, store personnel, and the current product mix. Founded in 1950 by Burwell “Burl” Evans, Outer Banks Ace Hardware has grown to include six stores throughout the Outer Banks:

Avon (42000 Highway 12): Jenn O’Neill, general manager

Corolla (822 Ocean Trail): Jessica Banks, general manager

Grandy (6704 Caratoke Highway): Donna Vance, general manager

Kitty Hawk (4132 North Croatan Highway): Mike Jennings, general manager

Manteo (300 US Highway 64): Shelia Varner, general manager

Nags Head (2718 South Croatan Highway): Courtney Nixon, general manager

Outer Banks Ace Hardware will sell traditional hardware products such as fasteners, tools, paint, plumbing and electrical supplies. Additionally, all of the stores will continue to carry a large supply of spa and pool products with the Kitty Hawk store maintaining the largest inventory. The chain also sells a wide range of specialty products (which are unique to each store): gardening products, outdoor furniture, beach and boating products, Stihl power equipment, pet products, and equine and livestock supplies.

Westlake also owns Ace Hardware of Raleigh, with locations at North Ridge Shopping Center (6196 Falls of Neuse Road) and Falls River Shopping Center (10930 Raven Ridge Road).
