Gov. Pat McCrory, N.C. Transportation Secretary Nick Tennyson, and
other state and local officials are expected to attend the celebration.
“I’m proud that my administration could finally break through the
litigation stalemate that had this project stalled for years,” McCrory

petitioners that allowed the state to move forward with replacing the
The contractor has already been staging equipment in the area for
construction, which is expected to begin this month. The bridge
is expected to be open to traffic in the fall of 2018.
