power has been restored to all of Hatteras Island and Ocracoke
Island. Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative and contracted crews
completed all work to construct the new overhead transmission line near
Oregon Inlet and have energized the cable. Each of the seven
villages on Hatteras Island have been removed from generator power and
are now receiving power from the cooperative’s transmission lines.
County officials have lifted the mandatory evacuation for all visitors
to Hatteras Island, beginning at noon on Friday. All electricity
conservation appeals for Hatteras Island have been lifted.

members and visitors of Hatteras and Ocracoke Islands for their
continued patience and support during this unprecedented event.
