The St. John’s United Methodist Church (UMC) in Avon village is hosting a fundraising dinner complete with a raffle drawing for several local and eye-catching artworks on Tuesday, November 5, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m.
The dinner will feature both shrimp chowder and clam chowder, as well as tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, artisan breads and lots of desserts! Donations are accepted, and all proceeds go to help fund a new sound system for the sanctuary to accommodate the church’s rapidly expanding music program.
The United Methodist Women will also be raffling off two works of art by Denise Gaskins, as well as a homemade quilt crafted by Myra Paul. Tickets are $1 apiece, or $5 for six tickets, and the drawing will be held on the night of the fundraiser. Raffle ticket holders do not need to be present to win.
The fundraising dinner is wide open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend and join in the fun. The event takes place at the St. John’s UMC, which is located at 40336 McMullen Rd. in Avon village.
