Visitors commemorating Martin Luther King Jr. Day with the North Carolina Aquariums will receive half-off regular admission Monday, Jan. 20, 2025. Joining with the nation, the Aquariums honor the life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. Through this half-off admission, visitors will enjoy the immersive experience of the Aquariums—gazing at amazing creatures, while engaging with staff who are passionate about their conservation. King’s advocacy work for equality extended to the natural environment.

The Aquariums are popular during holidays and reservations fill up quickly. Visitors must purchase their discounted tickets online in advance of their visit.
At the Aquarium on Roanoke Island, the Sea Turtle Assistance and Rehabilitation (STAR) Center is rehabilitating cold-stunned sea turtles. Sneak a peek at the patients through the glass doors and then marvel at the 285,000-gallon Graveyard of the Atlantic exhibit and shark habitat. Visitors are invited to wander through the Wild Wetlands to meet river otters, alligators and turtles, and swing by Sea Senses for a sensory experience with stingrays and invertebrates.
