Hatteras Island is hosting a wave of events for Halloween
Halloween is gearing up to be a wonderfully spooky celebration on Hatteras Island in 2023, thanks to a number of events that are wide open to the public.

Trunk or Treat – Avon
Tuesday, October 31, 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Beach Klub at Koru Village in Avon will once again be hosting its annual Trunk or Treat at the parking lot next to the Beach Klub and the Avon Pier. Volunteers will have their cars decorated with a spooky theme, and kids can walk around in a safe environment and trick or treat with friends and neighbors. Trunk or Treat – Hatteras Village
Tuesday, October 31, starting at 5 p.m.
Hatteras village will be hosting a Trunk or Treat on Halloween night that starts with hot dogs, chips, and drinks at the Hatteras United Methodist Church parking area, and which continues with the traditional Hatteras Trick or Treating experience through the village. Trunk or Treat – Frisco
Tuesday, October 31, 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The Heritage of Faith Church in the heart of Frisco will hold its 12th annual Truck or Treating event, “Light the Night,” with a free raffle for attendees. (The winner will be announced at the event at 7:00 p.m.) The event takes place at the church site at 52406 N.C. Highway 12, and is free and open to the public.
Fall Festival Youth Fundraiser – Rodanthe
Sunday, October 29, 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
The Fair Haven United Methodist Church (UMC) will be holding a Fall Festival on Sunday in support of the church’s youth ministries programs. Activities include kids’ crafts, bobbing for apples, face painting, a bake sale, and artisan crafts for sale. The event is open to the public, and will be held at the Fair Haven UMC grounds at 24240 Tradewinds Drive.
Halloween Party – Rodanthe
Saturday, October 28, 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
The Rodanthe-Waves-Salvo Civic Association is hosting a Halloween Party at the RWS Community Building on Saturday afternoon. Volunteers are needed to help set up for the party and orchestrate the event, and the public can learn more at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100077405118903.
Haunted Trail – Hatteras Village
Saturday, October 28, 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Hatteras Village Civic Association will once again be sponsoring the annual Haunted Trail in Hatteras Village on Saturday, Oct. 28. This year’s theme is “Witches in the Woods” and attendees can park at the Hatteras Village Community Building & Library before being transported to the trail where plenty of shocks and surprises await. The event is one-night-only, and the cost is $5 per brave attendee.
Halloween Party at Frisco Woods Campground
Saturday, October 28, 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Frisco Woods Campground will be hosting a Halloween party with trick or treating from 4 p.m. until 5 p.m. The event will also feature live music, concessions, carnival games, and a costume contest with prizes – open to people, campsites, and pets. Halloween Bash at Tavern on 12
Saturday, October 28, starting at 9:00 p.m.
Tavern on 12 in Frisco will be hosting a Halloween party on Saturday night with live music from the Coffin Bangers, as well as a costume contest with prizes. Costumes are encouraged, and the party starts at around 9:00 p.m. and lasts until closing time.
Freaky Friday Halloween Wine Tasting
Friday, October 27, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Lee Robinson General Store will host a Freaky Friday Halloween Wine Tasting from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Hatteras Village to benefit the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation. There will also be a rummage sale and finger foods. A $10 donation for the Hatteras Island Cancer Foundation for the event is being requested.
Halloween Party at The Wreck in Hatteras
Thursday, October 26, 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The Wreck in Hatteras will host a Halloween Party on Thursday night, October 26. The event will feature live music and a costume content with prizes, so costumes are encoraged. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/TheWreckOBX.
