Outer Banks Earns Top Spot in U.S. News’ Best Family Beaches in the USA
U.S. News & World Report recently released a series of rankings for best summer vacations in a myriad of categories, and the Outer Banks ranked high on two of the included lists – the Best Beaches in the USA, and the Best Family Beaches in the USA.
The Outer Banks earned the #1 spot in the Best Family Beaches category, which took factors like safe waters, kid-friendly attractions, dining options, spacious accommodations, and multigenerational appeal into account, according to U.S. News & World Report.
In the Best Beaches in the USA category, the Outer Banks ranked #7, and it also made an appearance on the more generalized Best Summer Vacations in the USA, coming in at #16.
U.S. News & World Report analyzed more than 700 locations to come up with its rankings for the various categories, and the included destinations were based on both expert as well as reader opinions. In the more specialized category of Best Beaches in North Carolina, Cape Hatteras also ranked #1, while Ocracoke also made an appearance in the top 10.
