Masks no longer required for certain activities at Dare County’s Parks and Recreation facilities
Dare County has announced that masks are no longer required to be worn by those who are participating in certain indoor physical activities at the Dare County Parks and Recreation Department’s Northern Beach Division, Roanoke Island/Mainland Division and Hatteras Island Division, as well as the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center in Kill Devil Hills and the Dare County Center in Manteo.
This change is in accordance with the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s guidance regarding masking and strenuous activity.
These activities include pickleball, dance, youth and adult basketball, wrestling, gymnastics, open gym, and fitness classes. Masks must continue to be worn while individuals are walking into the building and until they reach the area where their activity will take place, and masks must also be worn upon exiting the building.
