BUXTON– Irma Ruth Gray Lange, 95, died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2010, in NagsHead. Mrs. Lange was born in Avon and was a homemaker andformerowner/operator of the Hatteras Gift Shop. She was a member oftheBuxton United Methodist Church, Cape Hatteras Order of the Eastern StarChapter #303, and a longstanding member of the Cape Hatteras AnglersClub. She attended Avon Elementary School and graduated from SouthMills High School. Mrs. Lange was in Pearl Harbor with herhusband during the Japanese attack.
Shewas the daughter of the late Willie and Ershula “Ersie”Gray Gray and the wife of the late Harry Davis Lange for 62years.
Survivingare her son Harry M. “Skip” Lange of Nags Head; onegranddaughter, Megan Ann Lange, and great-granddaughter, Allie JeanHoy. Mrs. Lange was predeceased by her sister, Myrtle Burrus,andbrothers, Elwood Gray, Clyde Gray, Vance Gray, and Carroll Gray.
Acelebration of life will be in St. John’s United MethodistChurch, Saturday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Roger Dill. Burial withEastern Star Rites will be in the Gray Cemetery in Buxton. Friends may join the family at the church at 1 p.m. for a time ofvisitation. In addition to flowers, memorials may be made totheBuxton United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 310, Hatteras, NC27943.
