OCRACOKE – Martha Roberts Lynn, formerly of Woodbridge, Va., died onTuesday June 7, 2011 at her home in Ocracoke. She waspreceded indeath by her husband, Carl Seymore Lynn Jr. She is survived by herdaughter, Mary Tabb Howard; her 4 sons, William H. Lynn, Andrew C.Lynn, Richard R. Lynn, Carl S. Lynn III; nine grandchildren; sixgreat-grandchildren, and her sister, Sue Roberts Forbes. Sheisalso preceded in death by her siblings: Margaret Williams, AlexanderWilliams, Robert F. Roberts and Richard Roberts.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Martha’s life on Sunday,June 12, from 5-8 p.m. at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 13318Occoquan Road, Woodbridge, Va. Funeral Services willbe held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Pohick Episcopal Church, 9301 RichmondHwy Lorton, Va. 22079 with interment to follow at PohickCemetery.
A lifetime member of Pohick Episcopal Church, Martha was one of thefounders of Historic Occoquan, as well as an activist who help getPotomac Hospital started. She lived in Occoquan, Woodbridge,andStafford before she moved to Ocracoke Island in the early ‘90s. Sheloved the island and resisted leaving, even for family trips.
