AVON — Frank H. Denz, 88, diedAug. 2, 2011, at SentaraBarco Nursing Home. Frank was born in Bronx, N.Y., on Aug. 19,1922. He served in the Navy during World War II aboard thesubmarine, U.S.S. Tambor, in the Pacific. After the war hejoinedthe Merchant Marine, then the U.S. Postal Service from whichheretired. Frank’s love of the water brought him toHatterasIsland, where he lived out his retirement.
Frank was predeceased by a son, William, who died at age 9. Surviving are his daughter, Jana Marie Denz, of Binghamton, N.Y., anephew, Paul M. Calvert of Washington, D.C., and other niecesandnephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Frank was buried in the Long IslandNational Cemetery, next to his son, on Aug. 9, 2011.
