FERNANDINABEACH, Fla. — Emma Fulcher, 81,died on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014 at theWarner Center for Caring in Fernandina Beach. Mrs. Fulcher was theyoungest of five children, born on April 20, 1933 in Mannheim, Germany,to the late August and Maria Ruppertus Reichert. While living inGermany, she met a young American soldier by the name of Roy Fulcherand they were married in 1951. In 1955, Mrs. Fulcher along with herhusband came to America and settled in Virginia Beach, Va. She enjoyedbeing a wife and mother to her two children and she loved to go bowlingwith her family and friends. She was a member of Salem United MethodistChurch. She came to Fernandina Beach in 2013 to be close to her family.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Fulcher was preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, Roy Fulche,r in 2011.
Sheleaves behind her two children, Alice Sykes and her husband, Gene, ofFernandina Beach and Roy Fulcher Jr. and his wife, Jean, of VirginiaBeach; one sister, Marianne Reicher,t of Mannheim, Germany;grandchildren, Gene Sykes Jr. and his wife, Lori, Wendy Bagley and herhusband, Donnie, and Carrie Ray and her husband, Shane; eightgreat-grandchildren, Zach Sykes, Rebecca Sykes, Brittney Sykes, GeneSykes III, Wyat Ray, Hailey Ray, Jimmy Bagley; and onegreat-great-grandson, Jayden Sykes.
Funeral Services will beheld at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at Buxton United Methodist Churchwith Rev. Dana Cavallaro officiating. Burial will take place at QuidleyCemetery after the service.
